Our second Laine Retreat will be held in a place that holds a very special spot in our hearts: South Tyrol, Italy.
This retreat will be all about taking it slowly, knitting, enjoying the moment and making memories that will last a lifetime. We will stay at Ottmanngut, a small family-owned boutique hotel located in the charming, old Alpine town Merano, where we photographed parts of our issue 2.
We will start each day with a 2-course, freshly made breakfast. We will also enjoy home-cooked lunches and dinners using local ingredients made in the hotel kitchen. During the retreat, we will have plenty of time to relax and knit, stroll in the town and enjoy the breathtaking views with mountains rising high at the horizon.
There will also be one half-day photography workshop, which will teach you how to express your own personal voice through pictures. This workshop will be held by our dear friend and colleague Simone Hawlisch who is widely known for her strong, visual storytelling. Furthermore, we have a huge pleasure of having The Queen of Brioche, Nancy Marchant, with us! Nancy will give a half-day brioche class that guides us beyond the basics – which we can not wait! On one evening, we will also head to a local restaurant to enjoy a tasteful dinner.
Laine Retreat will be hosted by Jonna Hietala and Sini Ellen of Laine Magazine.
