Laine KAL 2019

Laine KAL 2019

There are now six issues of Laine Magazine, with the seventh just around the corner. With 10 to 12 patterns in each issue as well as several individually-released patterns on Ravelry, there’s plenty to choose from. We’ve already organised knit-alongs for issues 5 and 6 separately, but many of you have been asking for a KAL which you could take part in by knitting any Laine pattern from any issue. And now’s the time!

The Laine KAL 2019 will run from January 18 to December 8, so you have almost a year to take part. Choose any pattern from any of the Laine issues or from our own Ravelry store, knit it and share your FO in the finished objects thread. The main prize, drawn at the end of the KAL, will be a carefully curated yarn package, and there will be a few additional prize giveaways during the year. In addition, we’ll also continue to organise separate KALs for each new issue, and you can enter any finished objects from those knit-alongs to this KAL as well.

So what are we planning to knit for this KAL? Well, at least Jonna’s new Meri sweater, a couple of Stalactite sweaters from issue 4 (Sini and Tiia have yarn ready to go!), a pair of Blomst socks from issue 2, the Hay sweater from issue 3, the Brennivin cardigan from issue 5, the Elfriede shawl from issue 6, … the list goes on! And then there are all the patterns that haven’t even been released yet. Issue 7 will be out February 15 and there are several almost mandatory cast-ons in that one as well!

For us this beautiful community of ours is an irreplaceable aspect of Laine, and what better way to cherish it than knitting together.

Both the chatter thread and the FO thread will be opened at our Ravelry group this Friday, January 18. Head over there for more detailed instructions.
